Fikac Watch, Watch Fikac

Ever have one of those moments when you made a decision and the results seem to backfire on you...continuously and constantly?

A few months ago the San Diego Padres made a trade with the A's for Jeremy Fikac. A few weeks later they got the bad news that Trevor Hoffman wasn't 'exactly right' after surgery. Then, they got the bad news Hoffman needed more surgery and would be out until at least the All Star break.

Here are Michael Neu's Totals:
6 Appearances - 0 Saves
8 Strike outs - 3 Walks
5 Hits - 1 Run
9 Innings - 1.00 ERA

Here's Jeremy Fikac's Spring Training Totals (yes, we know it's Spring, but they are impressive, which is why were showing them):
7 Appearances - 2 Saves
14 Strike outs - 0 Walks
4 Hits - 1 Run
11 Innings - 0.82 ERA

The only run Fikac gave up was on a solo homerun. Same with Neu. They both nailed a batter, too. Meaning, the only thing separating Fikac and Neu from a near perfect Spring Training is a single pitch. Now, if Neu has had a great Spring, how would you classify Fikac's Spring?

How do you think Kevin Towers, the San Diego GM is feeling, right about now (Funk Soul Brother)?
