PROGRESS REPORT – PRE FINALS

The worst part of any school year in junior high or high school was worrying about progress reports. Those little carbon copy messages sent home from the school to your parents mid quarter or semester. Usually, the school let the students know when they were due. The next day the parking lots and playing fields were empty as students rushed home to check the mail.

You would figure the school system would figure out that sending home official notices, in official school stationary would set off alarms and that these documents would be hijacked and destroyed. Well, that’s what you get for thinking that the school systems have a clue about anything besides oppressing the youth, fostering conformity and rewarding mediocrity.

Anyway.

Here’s our progress report on the Oakland A’s a few hours before Game 1 of the ALDS. We’ve included the grade they have achieved and the grade they could hope to achieve, if everything goes right in the playoffs. The further the A’s progress, the better their final grade will be. It is objective analysis based entirely on what we think, in that it is subjective and completely our own unabashed opinion.
