BOFFO BARRY

Okay, it happens every season. Well, the last two. We all sit back and wonder if in June we will be sitting around thinking, “you know, instead of doing ' X ' Barry Zito should have been working on a cutter or a slider."

What are we driving at?

Barry Zito was on the Chris Isaak Show last night and the reviews are in:

Barry Zito seems to have studied at the Keaneau Reeves, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck and Stephen Dorf School of acting – squint a lot, crinkle your forehead and stare at the co-star. Whatever you do, don’t break character, which is, of course yourself (the above mentioned actors never get cast in roles other than themselves – Tom Cruise always plays Tom Cruise…sort of like Julia Roberts always plays Julia Roberts).

For an actor, Zito is a hell of a pitcher.

Now, before people start asking questions about the Chris Isaak Show, Anson is not an actual part of the band that Chris Isaak regularly plays with. He’s a fictional amalgam. The other three, Rowland, Kenny Dale and Herschel are Chris’ actual band, Silvertone.
