Shawn Kohn was called up to AAA Sacramento today. Why on earth would the A's do that?

Kohn is another Washington product having pitched for the Huskies from 1999-2001. He was kind of all over the place until he settled down in his senior year (2000-2001). This year he is having an outstanding April. In 2003 he started a hand full of games, but basically he is a relief pitcher. With Justin Lehr on the verge of making the next step, Kohn might be the closer for Sacramento by the end of the year. 25 K's in 12 innings. That is incredible.
