No. It would be impossible to right now, anyway. The panic button is stuck in the console. After Macha had Scutaro and Kotsay try to bunt in successive at bats and then Kielty missed a bunt sign and tried to bunt with two strikes in the same game (Seattle series at home), that sucker is jammed in there flush.
You can blame the lack of run support, but really, this team is not focused and there's a sense of longing for an eruption or tirade within the Athletics...and it's growing.
One more loss and the A's are a .500 team.
That's just awful, even if we are only 1/9th of the way into the season. Billy Beane needs to shake things up. Don't be surprised that there's some movement during the next homestand. Guys are lazy, showing up late, not being prepared...lack of 'professionalism'. Sure, the A's clubhouse still has the Delta House banner flying over the door; but it's just not the same vibe. It's been a few years. Maybe they've grown up and become complacent. That scruffy facial hair used to be a distinct homage to their comrades of youth. Now, that facial hair is there just to hide their puffy compromising faces.
The boys are in a funk Martha. Guess we better get the aprons out, we're a goin' to the cuttin' shed.
