WHAT GOES UP

Part of the reason this blog was created was to establish an archive for events that transpire regarding the Oakland A's apart from the viewpoint of the media. The problem that plagues the very existence of this body of work is that there are too many idiots with a sports column in the print media and many more idiots too willing to pass along a 'rumor' as pre-mature fact.

Further, as blogs exploded, they have perpetuated as many gaffs as they hope to prevent with the flow of information to baseball fans. There is reporting and there is fact. There are reporters and there are journalists. There are hacks and there are Phil Rogers, Skip Bayless and Bill Plaschke.

HERE'S MY AWARD WINNING PETER GAMMONS IMPRESSION

Look,...
(thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week. Tip your waitstaff. Enjoy the veal).

I'm on a plane to Madison, WI in 90 minutes so I'll work on a post along the way. In reality, though, I tire of having to correct the errors and wayward exasperations of the ill-informed, illogical and totally incompetent sportswriters and bloggers alike.

Do you ever wonder why there are dumb fans?

Its very simple.

Recall that PSA (Public Service Announcement) where the father catches his son smoking pot and rattles him with the question, "who taught you how to do this stuff?"

The son lashes back, "From you, alright! I learned it from watching you!"

Where do fans get their "information" from?

The media has serious quality control issues and largely they stem from a lack of integrity.
