Nice night for baseball. Visitng team down on on the season. Guy who recently flirted with a perfect game, struggled with his mechanics last time out. Possible huge four team trade in the mix and I have news on the A's trade talks with the Reds.

BREAK FOR LEVITY

The perils of the 4 Man Outfield and the further adventures of the 3 Man Outfield when the centerfielder is down with an injury.

Bobby Kielty went down in the 3rd inning with a back injury, Kotsay is on the shelf for 10 days according to Will Carroll and Keith Ginter needed a chance to stretch.

"For all the talk about Nick Swisher being able to play center field, he hasn't done it this season."
    - Will Carroll, Under the Knife

Best question called out from the other room this season:

KERRY: "How did Ginter end up in left field?"

ZACHARY: "He went to 3rd base and hung a left."

This becomes one great opportunity to watch all facets of the A's organization in action over the next 36 hours. From the training staff, to media relations, to the front office to the coaching staff on the field. The questions are inherent:

  • How much information will come forth about the Kielty injury?

  • How much will the Kotsay injury become an issue with the media?

  • Will the A's make a trade for an Outfielder who can play center?

  • Will the A's make a roster move to bring up an outfielder?

  • Will the A's try to band-aid the situation or make a push for Adam Dunn?

  • If the A's bring up an outfielder will it be Charles Thomas, who has been very cold of late, Freddie Bynum - who the A's hope is another Chone Figgins, or will the A's call up Matt Watson who hit for an A's cycle tonight - double, triple, homerun and a walk?

  • Will the A's be competing for OF with the Twins?

  • Will Billy Beane stick his fingers in the Manny Ramirez multi-team pie?

Enough of the questions, where are my answers?

Comments:

You tease. What's the news with the Reds??

Rich Harden faced 28 batters. 14 of them reached base. That's a .500 On Base Percentage.

Wow.

Double Plays are a good thing.

Better yet, forget left field...
How did he end up in Oakland?

Ha ha!

YOU DAMN TEASE!

Please, c'mon already, we're bustin' here.

Zach, you're so mean. Tell them already.
