HARDEN THEY FALL

UPDATE: Harden is expected to miss three to six weeks.

Harden on the 15 Day DL. Ron Flores up. Most likely scenario is Chad Gaudin starts in a tandem with Halsey/Kenedy depending on bullpen usage.

You might be asking yourself; "Can we, as mere A's fans, depend on Ken Macha to develop a sound, logical and rational 'stra-gety' in place and use it correctly?."

And you say to yourself,

"Hell no."

Go voice your feelings over at ESPN.com, maybe the first cool thing they have done since hiring Rob Neyer.

Manager Ratings. Let me guess, all the pollyannas are going to go defend Macha.

Your decision. But that is a damn spade in his hand.

Comments:

Look at that, Jim Leyland at a 96% approval rating! Just to think he was just sitting there all those years ripe for the picking and we let the Tigers get him.

Here's an excerpt from a post on Deadspin, after rumors surfaced that the Tigers were considering hiring Leyland, detailing his appearance on Chris Meyers' show:

Leyland paused for a moment, put his head down and delivered the obligatory platitudes about how bad smoking is for you, how children should avoid smoking, how he knows it’s unhealthy. Then he looked directly into the camera, his eyes very wide, and said, “Still. Smokers out there, you know what I’m talking about. That moment, after you’ve had a huge meal, say at Thanksgiving, when you step outside in the cold, light up a cigarette and take a deep inhale … that’s about the best moment in the world, you know? All the smokers out there, you know that feeling. Sometimes, smoking is fantastic.”
