This has all the making of Jerry Springer, ER, Crossing Jordan and Law & Order.

I wouldn't be surprised if MLB made Bobby Jo Williams an honorary member of the Ownership Committee if she's able to bilk people out of money for support of something that has long passed. Sounds like she has the right qualifications and an attorney willing to spend a lot of money.

Don't blink, you might miss this being drawn out longer and longer. The classic charity scam is to gain donations through public relations, usually with the help of the free media all too willing to beat a (oh, wrong phrase)...anyway, get money and then set up a board of directors. Using the money from donations you pay the board, usually six figure incomes with expense accounts, vehicle and travel allowances, etc. When you look at their books it looks legitimate because you have all this money rolling in and it gets directed to keep an operation with a high overhead afloat.

The problem is, there usually is very little left over funds that actually get funneled to any cause. Most often, it gets sent to a charity that is already established. It's a pyramid scheme.

Look up some of your favorite athlete's charity organizations and find out who is on their board or work as an 'assistant'. Dollars to donuts most of the people are family members, in-laws, posse people and other hangers on.
